About the University

Bharathiar University (BU) was founded by the Government of Tamil Nadu in February 1982, under the Bharathiar University Act 1981. The institution, named after the eminent visionary and revolutionary national poet Mahakavi Subramania Bharathi, functions with the motto of "Educate to Elevate" and has evolved as a prominent research-intensive institute of higher education in the region. Located at the foothills of Marudhamalai, along the Western Ghats, BU covers a sprawling area of 778.89 acres and has excellent connectivity through road, rail and air, making it easily accessible from all parts of the state and the country. BU has received the prestigious 'A++' Grade from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) in the fourth cycle of assessment, which underscores the high-quality education and research being imparted at the university.

The institution boasts of 39 departments under 13 schools, offering 4 undergraduate programmes, 54 postgraduate and 10 postgraduate diploma courses, 1 Certificate Course, Ph.D. programmes. The university is endowed with 143 affiliated colleges. Additionally, 35 research institutions of national reputation are also affiliated to Bharathiar University. Eighteen faculty members from various departments have been listed among the top 2% of Scientists of the world by Scopus. Notably, Bharathiar University houses the DRDO-Industry Academia Centre of Excellence as a joint venture by DRDO, the Ministry of Defence, Government of India.

About the Department

The Department of Applied Mathematics was established in 2008. The Department offers M.Sc. Mathematics with Computer Applications for PG students, and offers Ph.D. programme in Mathematics. The courses offered by the department are designed to reflect this diversity and take students to the highest level, providing them with a greater adaptability to the evolutions of their future careers. Students are introduced to the fundamental fields of applied mathematics, which share the methods of mathematical modelling, analysis and digital simulation. Research activities in the Department cover various fields in Applied Mathematics.

The Department carries out world class research in focal areas of Applied Mathematics and has been establishing advanced research collaborations both nationally and internationally. It provides internet facilities round the clock to all faculty members and research scholars. The Department is highly active in conducting research in areas such as Differential Equations, Fluid Dynamics, Mathematical Biology, Neural Networks, Dynamical Systems, Applied Algebra and Fuzzy Sets and Systems.

About ICNDS 2026

The primary objective of ICNDS 2026 is to deliberate on the contemporary research trends in Applied Mathematics and to discuss various recent real-world problems and their associated innovative solutions.

The conference promotes and influences more understanding and collaboration among young scholars and eminent experts working on theoretical and computational aspects of dynamical systems.

It will expose the fundamental theories of modelling, analysis and simulation of nonlinear science and complexity. It aims to focus on recent developments in dealing with the nonlinear systems theoretically as well as computationally.
